"Career Assessments"
Summer 2019

Career assessments are tools that are designed to help individuals understand how a variety of personal attributes can impact their potential success and satisfaction with different career options and work environments. With an increasing emphasis on technology in career development, the role of career assessment is ever evolving. With so many different tools available, along with the increased integration of technology within assessment, this issue of Career Developments seeks to address how career counselors and professionals select and use these tools in helping clients with their career concerns.
NCDA is also excited to announce the release of the next edition of “A Counselor's Guide to Career Assessment Instruments”. The new title for this 7th edition will be “A Comprehensive Guide to Career Assessment” because it will offer expanded coverage of applied and global perspectives on career assessment. This valuable resource maintains the key features of previous editions with reviews of instruments and chapters by leading experts in the field. The updated edition will debut a unique online companion that will increase the usability of the publication.

In addition to our focus on assessment, we have also collaborated with CERIC to create a joint
issue. This special issue will include columns that will also appear CERIC’s Careering magazine.
