Wellness Wednesdays

Working during these times can be stressful for a number of reasons, and by mid-week, we sometimes forget about taking care of ourselves. Welcome to Wellness Wednesday! This space will remind us to take care of ourselves and allow us to share how we have incorporated wellness into our weekly routine.

In the past week, I intentionally closed my laptop at a certain time and watched holiday movies...they make me happy!

I've been intentional about stepping away from the computer and getting some steps in to stay active and clear my mind.

I have been doing a fun skin care routine and reading at least 10 minutes of a nonacademic book so I can simply unplug and rest.

My focus for wellness has been two-fold. Getting good sleep, both in duration and quality, and nourishing myself with the foods that work for me.

I've been so busy during the workday and talking a whole lot during appointments. So during my drive home, I turn off all music and just drive in the silence to decompress. Its been so helpful to make the transition from work to home.

I was able to do a brief workout most mornings this week and end with a short meditation. It's been a great way to start my day. :)

I have been using the Calm app in the evening, which has been very soothing and relaxing.

I have incorporated the 4-7-8 breathing method and body scanning practice into my week.

I made time to do yoga yesterday! It's been a tough week - but taking some time for myself definitely gave me a boost. :)

Thank you all for participating in Wellness Wednesdays! I enjoy reading all of your responses. For my wellness, I have continued to close my laptop at a certain time to allow myself to relax and spend time with my 5 month old baby boy 😊

What has your wellness looked like in the past week?

I am going to work out at least 30 minutes each weekday morning before work. It gives me energy and mental clarity in addition to making me stronger physically.

I went to the gym and worked out a few times, and called a friend I haven't spoken with in a while.
